President Donald Trump was presented with FIFA’s brand new Peace Prize during the 2026 World Cup draw.

Trump , who has long been vocal about wanting to win the Nobel Peace Prize, was widely expected to receive FIFA’s inaugural honor as the football association’s president, Gianni Infantino , has spoken openly about thinking the president deserved it for his efforts to broker peace a ceasefire in Gaza.

“You definitely deserve the first FIFA Peace Prize for your action, for what you have obtained in your way,” said Infantino when presenting the president with the award, per AP News .

“This is truly one of the great honors of my life,” Trump remarked in his acceptance speech. He also added that, most importantly, “I just want to thank everybody. The world is a safer place now.”
