SEATTLE — The owner of Evangadi Hookah Lounge shut the business down Thursday, days after a man was shot and killed inside the establishment , city officials confirmed.
The Seattle City Attorney’s Office said Evangadi received five citations for violating Seattle’s after-hours nightlife ordinance, the most issued to any business in the city between July and October 2025.
Citing more than a dozen examples of "nuisance activity," the Seattle Police Department ultimately declared the property a "chronic nuisance," according to a memo dated Dec. 4. The notice threatened penalties against the owner for failure to "correct the nuisance to the satisfaction of the chief of police."
A final, fatal incident precipitated the closure.
