ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Greystar, the country’s largest apartment landlord and the owner of at least 60 metro Atlanta locations , has been ordered to pay millions in restitution to settle a lawsuit.

In January, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the State of Colorado filed a complaint in federal court, alleging the South Carolina company advertised deceptively low prices by hiding mandatory fees.

Greystar has since agreed to pay $23 million to the FTC and $1 million to Colorado, the FTC announced on Tuesday. It’s also been ordered to clearly disclose all fees in its advertisements and paperwork.
