HOUSTON — Soccer fans packed Little Woodrow’s in east Downtown this morning as the 2026 FIFA World Cup draw revealed who their favorite teams will face in next year’s group stage.
Chants of “Olé!” erupted throughout the bar as fans reacted to the matchups in real time.
"This is the most important period of life,” one fan said. “This is a once-in-a-lifetime event that FIFA is coming to Houston."
Another added, “The love for the game, the passion, everybody coming together — I will be there, absolutely.”
Among the crowd was Jessica, a recent double-transplant recipient who said she’s grateful just to be alive to see World Cup matches played in Houston. She has signed up as a FIFA volunteer.
