After going for a record number of days (over 6 weeks) without economic data from the Department of Labor and the Department of Commerce, we finally received a trickle. The Nov. 20 release was data for the national labor market in September (wait: aren’t we in December?), and there will be no labor market data published for October 2025. The November data release will be delayed until the middle of this month, after the Federal Reserve Dec. 9-10 meeting.
The most general measure of the economy, Gross Domestic Product (the sum of all goods and services produced within the U.S., third quarter estimate) will not be available until Dec. 23. This resembles the situation of an oil tanker going into a fog bank, which contains icebergs, and
