PEARL HARBOR — A Northumberland Borough resident has traveled with two World War II veterans to Pearl Harbor for the annual Remembrance Day events commemorating the attack by Japan 84 years ago on Dec. 7.
Barbara Spaventa, of Northumberland Borough, accompanied Navy veteran Milton Ripple, 97, and Army veteran Robert Hartline, 98, both from the Harrisburg area, on the trip. She had previously gone with Ripple and Hartline to the Normandy D-Day celebration.
