FORT BRAGG — The Army's largest command, the U.S. Army Forces Command, concluded its service Dec. 5 at Fort Bragg to make room for the newly established Western Hemisphere Command.
The last command to activate on Fort Bragg was in 2018, with the Security Forces Assistance Command, which is under FORSCOM.
The ceremony marked the retirement of FORSCOM’s commander, Gen. Andrew Poppas, and a transfer of authority to the Western Hemisphere Command’s first commander, Gen. Joseph Ryan.
