Source: UConn to hire Jason Candle as next head coach

(WFSB) - A source told Erin Connolly that UConn will hire Jason Candle as their next head football coach.

Candle is coming to Storrs from the University of Toledo.

He is taking over for Jim Mora, who left UConn to become the head coach at Colorado State.

Candle brings an established pedigree to the program, winning two Mid-American Conference Championship titles and three MAC West Division crowns in ten seasons with the Rockets. He helped the team make seven bowl games.

He was also named the MAC Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2023.
