AMES(KWWL)--After ten years in Ames, Matt Campbell is leaving Iowa State to become the new head football coach at Penn State. Campbell goes to Happy Valley after ten historic years in Ames where he led the Cyclones to 8 winning seasons, two Big 12 Championship games and three bowl victories including the Fiesta Bowl.
Campbell leaves Iowa State as the winningest Football coach in School history(72-55). Penn State hires Campbell 54 days after firing previous head coach James Franklin. Now Iowa State Athletics Director will begin the search for the Cyclones' next head coach.
