MADISON, Wis. (WAOW) - Gov. Tony Evers has signed Executive Order #282, declaring an energy emergency in Wisconsin. He says this action addresses challenges from a pipeline disruption and high demand for heating fuel due to severe winter weather.
“The health, welfare, and safety of our neighbors depend on access to fuel for home heating," said Gov. Evers. "I’m declaring this energy emergency to ensure folks and families across our state have the fuel they need to stay warm and safe."
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin’s Office of Energy Innovation reports long lines at terminals and extended drives for suppliers.
