A chilling 911 call led to the discovery of NBA legend Elden Campbell’s body following a man revealing he saw something that “looks like a human body” washing ashore on a Florida beach.

Campbell, an NBA champion with the Detroit Pistons in the early 2000s, was pronounced dead on Monday night.

He was 57 years old.

His sister told the New York Post that he had been out on the water and suffered a medical emergency after making it back to shore. However, Florida authorities have since revealed that he died as a result of accidental drowning.

TMZ obtained 911 audio linked to Campbell’s death. The man who saw his body was initially confused but realized he might be watching a body after zooming in on the beach with his camera.
