MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department has arrested and charged a second man in connection with a kidnapping and assault that occurred back in May 2024.

Michael Dwayne Chism, 46, is accused of especially aggravated kidnapping, aggravated robbery, and being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Chism was officially booked on Thursday.

His codefendant, 61-year-old David Bobo, was arrested back in February on charges of especially aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.

Court records show that Bobo’s robbery charge has since been dropped, while the state found probable cause for the kidnapping charge.

According to the affidavit, on May 14, 2024, a woman reported a robbery to police that took place at Bobo’s house on Josephine Street.
