BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - Earlier in the week, the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) released its project recommendations — along with it, statements scrutinizing coastal leadership.
Friday, Sen. Brice Wiggins responded, saying it’s time the MDA did its part for coastal Mississippi.
A letter from MDA Executive Director Bill Cork says the Coast has lost out on big economic opportunities due to a lack of strategy. This was released along with project recommendations for the Gulf Coast Restoration Funds.
“When I read it, I was perplexed,” described Sen. Wiggins.
Sen. Wiggins is objecting to Cork’s message, saying it’s going beyond the scope of the MDA’s responsibilities.
