Police have asked the driver of a vehicle that hit and killed an 81-year-old woman to come forward.

Emergency services rushed to Longmoor Lane, Liverpool , at around 4.15pm on Friday, November 5, on reports that a a dark-coloured vehicle had hit a pedestrian.

The pensioner , a local to the area, is believed to have gone to a nearby shop. She sustained serious injuries from the hit-and-run and was taken to Aintree Hospital.

She passed away hours later.
