CENTRAL ILLINOIS( 25News Now ) - It may be opening night for Big 12 boys’ hoops, but it was also a strong night for the girls’ as four Big 12 teams notched opening-game victories.
Peoria Notre Dame kept its momentum rolling with a win over Normal Community, Normal West rolled over Urbana, Bloomington held off Peoria High, plus Peoria Richwoods and Manual completed the doubleheader sweeps over Centennial and Champaign Central. Pekin defended its home court in a Mid-Illini win over Dunlap.
Also in boys’ hoops, Central Catholic outlasted Eureka, Pontiac got a road win over El Paso-Gridley, Kash Klendworth scored 33 for Fieldcrest in their win over Olympia, and Connor Doe led Brimfield with 23 in their win over Stark County.
