JACKSONVILLE – The Spring Garden Panthers sank 10 3-pointers and held on for a 55-54 area basketball victory at Jacksonville Christian on Friday.
Noah Carnes led the Panthers with13 points, including three treys. Brody Bostick netted nine points on three 3-pointers. Eli Bates added eight points, including a pair of treys. Joel Hunter finished with five points.
Bryson Dowdey scored a game-high 28 points, including five 3-pointers, for the Thunder. Noah Lee tossed in 13 points. Wil Hudson had seven points and Anthony Gooch finished with five points.
Spring Garden jumped out to a 20-5 first quarter lead and held a 34-19 advantage at halftime. The Panthers led 47-37 at the end of the third quarter.
Spring Garden (2-1) hosts Donoho on Monday.
