A bar and music venue in Birmingham has been ordered to shut temporarily after an attack left two men injured.

Police and the ambulance service were called to U Wish Lounge in Eyre Street, off Spring Hill in the Ladywood area of the city, last Friday (November 28).

The venue was open and trading when at around 1am there were ‘at least two serious assaults’ involving weapons.

The incidents are being investigated as s18 wounding offences with intent to cause GBH (grievous bodily harm).

West Midlands Police applied to Birmingham City Council for a ‘summary’ review of the premises licence.
