ADENA — Wreaths Across America will be celebrated on Saturday across the nation.

The nonprofit’s mission is to remember the fallen, honor those who serve and teach children about the value of freedom.

This year, there is a new theme, according to organizers. “Keep Moving Forward,” inspired by the last words of Capt. Joshua Byers, who was killed in action in Fallujah, Iraq, on July 23, 2003, while serving in the Army.

Each year, millions of volunteers and patriots gather in local, state and national cemeteries across all 50 states and abroad, to pay tribute to service members and their families. Most recently, the gatherings have taken place at St. Casimir, Rehoboth, Holmes and Adena Presbyterian cemeteries, according to organizers.
