It’s the Portland Winterhawks’ toughest loss of the season. They outshoot the Vancouver Giants 41-23, and come back from a 2-0 deficit to make it 2-2, but they couldn’t get over the hump, and Ty Halaburda’s power play goal with 12.4 seconds left in the 3rd period wins it for the Giants.
Burke Hood stopped 39 shots for Vancouver, and Halaburda’s winner was his second goal of the game. The Giants have a 3-game winning streak.
Portland comes back home in the second game of their three-game weekend, meeting the Seattle Thunderbirds for the first time this season.
