SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- After a baby and a toddler were seriously injured in a hit-and-run in San Bernardino, police announced that a 27-year-old man was arrested Friday in connection with the crash.

The crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Arrowhead Avenue and 27th Street, according to San Bernardino police.

Police said in a statement that two women and six children were crossing Arrowhead Avenue when a driver traveling at a high rate of speed struck the baby and a 3-year-old.

After the crash, the 3-year-old was thrown to the ground while the infant was still in a stroller as the suspect's car dragged it more than 350 feet.
