LOGAN — The first installment of a two-night 10-Minute Play Festival by Theatre Arts students at Utah State University kicked off on Dec. 5 with nine brief productions with an decided emphasis on science fiction and comedy themes.
USU instructor Stephan Espinosa introduced the roughly 90-minutes of entertainment, explaining that students from his Directing for the Stage class planned and executed each of the evening’s offerings from start to finish, including auditioning and directing the performances of mostly sophomore and junior theatre majors.
“I dropped in once in a while during the rehearsal process to see if I could help,” he said, “but I couldn't for the most part.”
In addition to giving the student directors an opportunity to practice their skills, the 10-Minute Play Festival
