A plane passenger says she was brought to tears on a recent flight after seeing a body-shaming message about her on her seatmate’s phone.

“We’ve taken off and I can’t stop crying. This man next to me sends 1 text, ‘ugh HUGE woman sat next to me,’” TikTok user Vanessa Confessore wrote on her Oct. 26 video . “And now I feel like a prisoner for the next 2 hours.”

Confessore tells PEOPLE the experience left her feeling “shocked” and “hurt.”
