Four demonstrators have been apprehended after food was hurled at a display case housing the Crown Jewels in the Tower of London.
The group, Take Back Power, which identifies itself as a new non-violent civil-resistance organisation, claimed responsibility for the act.
They stated that custard and apple crumble were tossed at the case, which held the invaluable Imperial State Crown.
The Metropolitan Police reported: "Four protestors have been arrested following criminal damage at the Tower of London. Police were called at 09.48hrs on Saturday December 6 to the Tower of London following reports of criminal damage to a display case, containing the State Crown.
