Liverpool City Region Mayor Steve Rotheram has announced that he will establish a new Mayoral Development Corporation that will accelerate regeneration across the region - with a view to unlocking one of the country's largest brownfield sites around Liverpool's northern docks.

Mayor Rotheram has said he will deploy devolved development powers to fast-track the delivery of thousands of new homes and major commercial developments, working in tandem with Liverpool City Council, in a new development zone.

The proposed zone, which would be the first of its kind in the region, would focus on building on the momentum created by Everton FC’s new Hill Dickinson Stadium at Liverpool Waters.
