(KFVS) - It’s looking to be a gorgeous winter weather weekend!

Spencer Wareing says for this weekend, we will have a slight break from the below-freezing, cold conditions we’ve been seeing with temperatures climbing into the 40s and mostly sunny skies.

Our northwestern counties could see temps as warm as 47 degrees!

Be sure to get outside and enjoy the nicer weather this weekend, as the Heartland will cool back down to the start of the work week.

Looking ahead, we are tracking some isolated sprinkles on Sunday, mostly across southern Illinois during the day.

Make sure you have a warm winter coat handy as temps will cool back down with highs in the 30s and lows in the 20s.

Another warm-up is expected by midweek, so the bitter cold won’t stick around for long!
