A Media woman accused of animal cruelty in the deaths of five puppies had her bail increased again Thursday after she allegedly continued to defy court orders regarding her involvement with animal rescue activities.

Letitia Mayo, 53, of the 500 block of Sycamore Mills Road, was taken back into custody Thursday afternoon after Delaware County Common Pleas Court Judge Stephanie Klein increased bail from 10% of $25,000 to 10% of $50,000.

She remained incarcerated as of Friday, according to online court records.

Mayo, the former head of Rags2Riches animal rescue in Garnet Valley, was charged in June with five felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals for allegedly failing to provide necessary veterinary care in the death of five puppies.
