STATEN ISLAND, N.Y.— The Christmas season is officially here.
Basking in the dazzle and splendor of holiday cheer, Staten Island residents and community leaders gathered Friday for the annual Tree Lighting at Historic Richmond Town.
The event kicked off with live music from local performers and a special appearance by Santa Claus, culminating with the 6 p.m. tree lighting, as borough families watched with warm drinks and festive treats in hand.
Historic Richmond Town CEO and Executive Director Jessica Phillips thanked everyone for attending, with a special nod to local representatives.
“I’d like to thank all of them for coming tonight,” said Phillips. “They do so much for us every day.”
