GRAND RAPIDS, MI – For the first time in a long time, South Christian’s boys basketball team isn’t opening the season with a bunch of tired legs from the football field.
The 2025 gridiron campaign was the first time since 2017 the Sailors didn’t reach the district finals, giving the eight players that participate in both football and basketball a little more time to get their hoops conditioning in order.
Perhaps it’s just a coincidence, but South Christian’s boys basketball team is 2-0 for the first time since the 2017-18 campaign, after the Sailors celebrated a thrilling 54-52 win over Holland Christian on Friday.
