Ukraine says it hit the Ryazan region oil refinery, while Russia’s military conducted a massive attack on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
Military forces struck the oil-processing facility overnight, Ukraine’s General Staff said on Telegram.
The Ryazan refinery, located 193 kilometres southeast of Moscow, is one of the largest in the country with a design capacity of about 340,000 barrels of crude a day — and has been attacked several times in recent months.
It wasn’t possible to independently verify the claims by Kyiv.
The attack follows a record series of Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian refineries in November and another of Rosneft’s refinery — in Syzran — was hit yesterday.
