The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office is aware of a false social media post circulating online alleging that an "immigration enforcement vehicle" struck and killed a pedestrian in Metairie.

The post continues to say eyewitness reports suggest that an immigration enforcement vehicle was involved in a high-speed chase before hitting and killing an unidentified man crossing the street.

According to JPSO, the information is false.

JPSO said they are investigating a crash involving a female pedestrian who was hit by a car driven by a man who remained on the scene.

The crash did not involve any federal immigratio
