ATLANTA — Things are pretty simple for Georgia football, in terms of the stakes of its SEC Championship showdown with Alabama , when it comes to the College Football Playoff.

Win here at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Saturday Dec. 6, and the Bulldogs get a first-round bye.

“That all comes with it,” quarterback Gunner Stockton said. “At the end of the day we're playing Alabama in the SEC Championship. That's all we're focused on right now. If we do what we got to do, it will all work out for us. That's kind of what we're focused on right now.”

The No. 3 Bulldogs and the CFP-ranked No. 9 Crimson Tide are playing for more than a trophy that comes with winning the conference title.
