Some states in the Pacific Northwest are under threat of widespread flooding and severe weather next week, according to the National Weather Service 's (NWS) latest forecast.

The most urgent flood threat has emerged in western Washington where a series of atmospheric rivers are set to deliver heavy rain beginning Sunday and continue through the next week.
The system, known as a Pineapple Express, is coming from Hawaii moving east to hit the Evergreen State as well as parts of Oregon .
Local news outlets reported that these storm systems were expected to dump 3 to 5 inches of rain across the Puget Sound region, with some coastal and mountainous areas possibly receiving between 6 and 10 inches.
