CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WVLT) - Alcoa raced out to a 21-0 lead early in the first quarter, taking down Pearl-Cohn for the 2025 TSSAA Class 4A state championship, 47-27
Tornado running back Micah Jones had a career-day, rushing for 120 yards and four touchdowns to earn game MVP honors.
Quarterback Thomas Manu went 12-15 through the air for 179 yards and a score. The junior added 38 yards on the ground.
Of Manu’s 179 passing yards, 120 went to wideout Jamir Dean.
Pearl-Cohn pulled within as many as 12 points in the third quarter, trailing 33-21 before the Tornadoes scored the final 14 points of the contest.
Alcoa has now captured 11 consecutive state titles and 24 overall. It’s the fourth state title for Brian Nix as Alcoa head coach.
