MECHANICSBURG, Pa. — Luca Neal scored three touchdowns and quarterback Carson Bellinger completed his first 10 passes — including a score on the team’s first offensive play — to lead Avonworth (15-0) to a 31-7 victory against Northwestern Lehigh (14-1) in the PIAA Class 3A championship game Saturday afternoon at Cumberland Valley High School’s Chapman Field.
It is the Antelopes first state championship and it comes a year after the team lost to the Tigers, 36-33, in overtime. The loss also ended Northwestern Lehigh’s 31-game winning streak
Avonworth wasted no time showing this game was going to be different from the 2024 meeting.
