U.S. — Movie fans across the country have expressed concern that Warner Bros' sale to Netflix could lead to comic book movies becoming over-bloated, soulless cash grabs.

With the streaming giant acquiring the rights to several comic book franchises through its $83 billion purchase, many were left worried that comic book movies could become nothing more than vapid, uninspired profiteering.

"Can you imagine if Netflix turned comic book movies into vacuous commercialism?" said local man Bennett Reasons. "That would be so awful. It's scary to think what they might do to a beloved franchise like Batman . Like, if they just trotted out some half-baked story with inane casting because they knew it didn't matter since it had Batman. It's horrible to think what that would be like."
