Following up on an all-time great finish at the Oregon high school cross country state championships, Warrenton’s Jayden Warner ended Saturday as one of the nation’s top cross country runners.
The senior Oregon Duck commit finished eighth at Nike Cross Nationals on Saturday at Glendoveer Golf Course in 15 minutes, 17.2 seconds.
Yosuke Shibata, a South Eugene junior who won the Class 6A state title this fall, finished 23rd in 15:34.8. Crater sophomore Garrett Faught, who won the Class 5A state title, was 24th in 15:35.1.
Jackson Spencer of Herriman, Utah won the boys race with a finish of 15:01.1. Yohanes Van Meerten of Arizona came in second in 15:03.3 and Caden Leonard of Texas was third in 15:03.7.
The NXN boys team title went to Niwot of Colorado, which finished with 61 points.
