1PHILADELPHIA, PA – A 34-year-old man who was critically wounded in a shooting inside a Southwest Philadelphia home Friday afternoon has died from his injuries.

Police said the shooting occurred around 3:18 p.m. inside a residence on the 2600 block of Muhfeld Street in the 12th District.

The victim was shot once in the abdomen and rushed by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

He was pronounced dead at 5:04 p.m., according to the Philadelphia Police Department.

Homicide detectives take over investigation

The case, initially handled by the department’s Shooting Investigation Group, has now been transferred to the Homicide Unit for further investigation.
