GRAY COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) - A deputy with the Gray County Sheriff’s Office has been arrested and is facing a stalking charge.

According to Gray County Sheriff Joel Skinner, the Gray County Sheriff’s Office was notified of alleged criminal misconduct involving deputy Martin Castaneda on Dec. 4.

Officials say that in order to ensure a review that was thorough and impartial, Sheriff Skinner requested that the Texas Rangers take over the investigation.

Castaneda was arrested on Dec. 5 and terminated from the Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Skinner reports that Castaneda is charged with stalking and is currently being held with no bond.
