Households in parts of the UK are being urged to stockpile key items for emergencies before Monday after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for several areas in England and in Wales.
The forecaster has issued a yellow weather warning for rain for 16 areas in England, as well as 16 areas in Wales, while also issuing another three yellow weather warnings for rain elsewhere in England, Scotland and Wales.
It warned that heavy rain is likely to bring disruption and ‘extensive’ flooding of homes and businesses is possible on Monday, December 8.
It also warned of ‘difficult’ driving conditions, loss of power and flooding as well as damage to buildings. The warning begins at 6pm on Monday and is in place until 6pm on Tuesday.
