Man Seriously Injured When Pickup Truck Strikes Tree: Suffolk County Police

A man was seriously injured after his pickup truck veered off the road and slammed into a tree on Long Island, police announced on Saturday, Dec. 6.

The crash happened in front of 7 Austin Lane in Elwood at approximately 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, according to the Suffolk County Police. 

The man had been driving a 2021 Dodge pickup truck southbound on Austin Lane when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree, police said.

He was transported to Huntington Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The truck was impounded for a safety check, and the investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
