On Saturday, the Chicago Bears signed offensive lineman Jordan McFadden from the practice squad to the active roster, and in a corresponding move, linebacker Carl Jones Jr. was released. They also elevated linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin to the active roster from the practice squad for Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.

The Bears had been operating with just seven offensive linemen since rookie Luke Newman went on injured reserve before the Eagles game. Chicago also has offensive linemen Kiran Amegadjie and Braxton Jones on IR, and McFadden has been elevated a couple of times already.

Jones Jr. has been up and down a few times from the practice squad already, so if he clears waivers, he’ll likely be re-signed to the practice squad again. He has played in nine games this season,
