MECHANICSBURG — While Avonworth wouldn’t quite call it revenge, it sure felt like it during its PIAA Class 3A championship victory over Northwestern Lehigh Saturday afternoon.
The Antelopes (15-0) controlled the game from start to finish in tune to a 31-7 victory in their rematch with Northwestern Lehigh (15-1) at Chapman Field for their first PIAA championship in school history.
“I wouldn’t say we circled,” said senior athlete Luca Neal. “But, it was definitely in the back of our minds.”
Avonworth has been perfect all season, and it wasn’t going to let the reigning PIAA 3A champions stop them from achieving greatness.
