In a rematch of last year’s 3A state title game, Avonworth was able to flip the script, dominating Northwestern Lehigh 31-7 to capture the program’s first state championship.

The first name on the scouting report for Northwestern Lehigh had to be Luca Neal. And it just didn’t matter. The Antelopes’ tailback was a chain-mover all game, rushing for 123 yards and three touchdowns while tallying 61 receiving yards as well. He also recorded six tackles and a tackle-for-loss on defense, helping anchor the dominant unit.

In a game that saw Avonworth turn the ball over four times, the Antelopes could simply rely on their defense to erase any of those mistakes.
