BRISTOL, Conn — A 9-year-old girl in Bristol is proving that small actions can make a big impact.

Maci Hopkins is on a mission to raise $2,500 this holiday season, money she’ll use to buy gifts and essentials for people in need.

And thanks to help from neighbors across the community, she’s now just a few hundred dollars away from reaching that goal.

For the past four years, Maci has spent her afternoons collecting bottles and cans for Toys for Tots and for her own project, “Kindness Bags,” which she donates to the Agape Housel. The Bristol-based nonprofit provides basic needs to the homeless and underserved populations.
