ROCHESTER, Mich. — In a game that featured no shortage of offense, the University of Toledo men’s basketball team couldn’t come up with a basket when it needed it most, as the Rockets fell to Oakland in a 98-97 shootout on the road Saturday.
After the Golden Grizzlies took the lead with 15 seconds left in regulation, Toledo had multiple chances at a game-winning basket, but its final chance ended up being blocked as time expired.
Five players on each team finished the game in double-digits in scoring. Leroy Blyden, Jr., led Toledo with 20 points, while Kyler Vanderjagt and Sonny Wilson both scored 16, Sean Craig notched 15, and Jaylan Ouwinga finished with 14.
Craig, a Northview graduate, added 11 rebounds for a double-double.
