BEAUMONT, Texas — Three Southeast Texas high school football teams went into the Regional Finals Friday night dreaming of glory, two emerged victorious.
The West Orange-Stark Mustangs and Newton Eagles are now only one more challenge away from their shot at a State Championship, after each battling their way through the perilous Texas high school football playoffs.
The Newton Eagles continued their steamroll through the playoffs last night with a 66-20 blowout victory over the Arp Tigers Friday night in Lufkin.
Newton looked basically untouchable since starting their season off with a loss (more on that later) and are now the winners of 13 straight games in dominant fashion.
