The Seattle Mariners have acquired left-handed reliever Jose Ferrer from the Washington Nationals in exchange for catching prospect Harry Ford and minor league pitcher Isaac Lyon.

The Mariners announced the trade Saturday afternoon, shortly after numerous reports broke.

The 25-year-old Ferrer gives Seattle another lefty bullpen arm alongside Gabe Speier.

Ferrer made his MLB debut with the Nationals in July 2023 and posted a 4.36 ERA in 142 relief appearances over three seasons in Washington. The 6-foot-1 Dominican Republic native totaled 121 strikeouts and 35 walks across 142 1/3 innings.

In 2025, Ferrer recorded a 4.48 ERA with 71 strikeouts and 16 walks in 76 1/3 innings.
