AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - Make-A-Wish Foundation volunteers hosted a Christmas party for local children and families in Aiken, featuring bowling and gift distribution from Santa Claus.
The event provided families affected by serious medical conditions a chance to connect with others in similar situations while enjoying recreational activities.
“I started with Make-A-Wish about seven years ago, and we feel that it’s important that these kids get out and are able to have a couple hours away from the hardest days of their life that they face,” said Barbara Kaminski, regional volunteer leader for Aiken County Make-A-Wish Foundation. “And we give them just a morning out. They’re bowling, they’re having a great time.”
