A sharply structured bodice set the tone for Zoe Saldaña’s latest “Avatar: Fire and Ash” premiere look on Friday night.
The actress’s black Balmain dress opened with an off-shoulder bodice formed from angular, overlapping panels, each densely worked in black beading that created a rigid frame across the neckline and upper torso. Those panels pushed outward into a pointed peplum before narrowing again into a long black velvet column skirt. The matte velvet skirt extended straight to the floor, and a back slit showed off her Saint Laurent La Scandale satin-crepe platforms.
Saldaña finished the look with Cartier Libre Polymorph earrings and a matching ring. The look was styled by Petra Flannery.
The appearance followed a string of dramatic looks across Saldana’s “Avatar: Fire and Ash”
