FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) - A deputy at the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office has been fired due to sexual conduct while on duty, according to Franklin Co. Sheriff A.J. Smith.

The sheriff said in a Facebook live that Deputy Lanny Rester was fired on Friday following the discovery. According to Smith, they learned Thursday afternoon that there was a video circulating of Rester having sex with a woman while on duty.

The sheriff said there are “a lot of unanswered questions,” but they know that the woman had “numerous arrests.” Smith said it is an ongoing criminal investigation and they will continue to share updates as they learn more.
